Mr. Butcher is a member of:
He is also an active volunteer with Trent University, the United Church of Canada, the Ottawa District Hockey Association, and the Red Cross. As well, Mr. Butcher helps organize the annual Administrators' Colloquium, a series of public policy discussions sponsored by Carleton University's School of Public Administration, the Canadian School of Public Service, the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, and the Couchiching Institute. Mr. Butcher is a past member of the Board of Governors of Trent University, where he is an Honourary Fellow of Champlain College. In 1998, he completed a four-year term as a public member of the Council of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario, one of the health professional regulatory bodies in the province. During his term with the College, he served on the Executive, Discipline, Registration, and Nominations committees. John holds a Level II (Secret) federal Security Clearance (to March 2015).
